Update Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat with CyanogenMod 11 ROM

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100 users who wish to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat on their devices with CyanogenMod 11 ROM may follow our step-by-step guide below.

Pre Requisites
1. Install USB Drivers or Samsung Kies for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging on your device.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. Ensure the battery of your device is charged more than 50 percent.
5. Make sure you have Custom Recovery installed on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
6. The CyanogenMod 11 ROM works only on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100.

Files Required
1. CyanogenMod 11 ROM Builds (choose either one):
2. Google Apps (Stock Package) or Google Apps (Full Modular Package)

Note: Google Apps (also known as GApps) are the proprietary Google-branded applications that come pre-installed with most Android devices, such as the Google Play Store, Gmail, Google Maps, etc.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions
Step 1 - Connect the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to the computer using USB cable.
Step 2 - Copy the CyanogenMod 11 ROM .zip and Google Apps .zip files to the SD card of your device.
Step 3 - Switch off the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
Step 4 - Boot the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 into CWM Recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up and Power buttons together.
Step 5 - Create a Nandroid Backup. It is important, in case something goes wrong you can restore to the current status. Select "backup and restore" then select "backup to storage/sdcard1".
Step 6 - Perform a Factory Reset (this will delete all user data). Select "wipe data/factory reset" then select "Yes - Wipe all user data".
Step 7 - In CWM Recovery, select "install zip" then select "choose zip from /sdcard". Now, navigate to the CyanogenMod 11 ROM .zip file that you copied earlier and confirm the installation by selecting Yes.
Step 8 - Repeat the previous step to install Google Apps as well.
Step 9 - Once the installation process completes, return to main recovery menu and select "reboot system now". The device will boot now and it may take about 10 minutes to complete.

Note: If the device gets stuck in boot loop, then just do a wipe data/factory reset from recovery mode to fix the issue.
